I tripped over a Monstera root this morning because I was distracted by a jumping spider on my windowsill. It served as a reminder that my footwear needs to be as grounded as my pilea collection.
Enter these Coutgo braided sandals. They are twenty dollars on Amazon and frankly, they are surprisingly decent for the price.
The braided straps are soft enough that they do not slice into my skin when I am frantically running to the hardware store for more potting soil. They are flat, which means I can squat down to prune my ferns without losing my center of gravity.
You know how some sandals feel like walking on wet cardboard? These are not that.
They actually feel secure. I have been wearing them while misting the terrariums and dragging bags of perlite across the floor.
They are surprisingly resistant to the occasional spill of nutrient water. If you want something that will not trip you up while you navigate a jungle of indoor foliage, these are a quiet win.
They are simple, they do not have unnecessary bells and whistles, and they do not clash with the natural aesthetic of my home. Plus, they make very little noise, so I can sneak up on my cat when she decides to chew on the spider plants.
