A Soundbar That Does Not Scare My Ferns

My spider plants usually hate heavy bass. They drop leaves like confetti whenever the vibrations get too aggressive near their pots.

I took a gamble on the Ultimea Aura A40 because it promised virtual surround sound that could fill a room without needing a massive, earth shaking subwoofer that takes up precious soil space. At 116 dollars, it is cheaper than a rare variegated monstera and significantly less likely to wither on me.

The setup is impressively compact for a 7.1 channel system. I tucked the surround speakers behind a cluster of pothos and they actually sounded better for being shielded by leaves.

The sound is crisp, clear, and surprisingly gentle. It brings the outside world into my living room without causing the humidity levels in my jungle to spike from sheer terror.

The app control is simple enough that I can adjust the levels while my hands are covered in potting soil.

Here is why it wins: It is small enough to hide in a bookshelf, the wires are easy to manage around tendrils, and it has enough depth to make nature documentaries sound like you are standing in the middle of a rainforest. If you are living in a tight space with many green roommates, this is the way to go.
