I spent forty minutes this morning trying to prune my Fiddle Leaf Fig without knocking over my bag of almonds. It was a disaster.
Then I found the Bandesun Divided Serving Tray on Amazon for thirteen dollars and forty nine cents. It is a simple plastic container with a lid and a handle.
It is essentially a bunker for snacks that keeps them safe from my own clumsiness and the occasional adventurous spider that likes to rappel into my kitchen. The compartments are small enough to hold dried cranberries but deep enough that a wandering pill bug cannot easily scale the walls to claim a raisin as his own.
It is sleek, utilitarian, and blessedly sturdy for those of us who live in apartments where every flat surface is currently claimed by a fern or a propagation station. I have filled mine with almonds, dried apricots, and a handful of birdseed for the balcony visitors.
It sits perfectly on my crowded windowsill. It looks clean, keeps the pests out, and stops me from dropping cashews into the soil of my monsteras.
It is quiet design at its best. Grab one before your snacks get composted by accident.
