A Maximalist's Guide to Outlet Management

I spent an entire hour yesterday rearranging my shelf of dubbed horror VHS tapes, only to realize my cable management was a chaotic, snarling nest of wires that would make an electrician weep. Enter the Anker power strip.

It costs less than a fancy latte at ten bucks, and it is honestly the most grounding thing in my room. The texture of the plastic feels sturdy, not like that flimsy, hollow junk you find at dollar stores that hums when it gets lonely.

I love how it looks sitting amongst my vintage ceramic cats and mismatched colored glass bottles. It is utilitarian in that beautiful, slightly industrial way.

It does not try to be cute, which makes it infinitely cooler. You can plug in twelve things at once, which is perfect for someone like me who needs a lava lamp, three vintage clocks, and a desk fan running all at the same time.

It has these little perks that make it feel like a tiny victory for my space:

• One USB-C port for my phone charger.
• Two USB-A ports for my old camera gear.
• A surge protector to keep my precious tapes safe.

It is the perfect foundation for a shelf that feels lived in but not entirely doomed by electrical failure.
