My spider plant has officially claimed the coffee table, leaving me exactly three square inches of space for anything else. When I saw these glass candlestick holders on Amazon for thirty two dollars and seven cents, I did not think about candles.
I thought about how the green glass would refract the afternoon sun right onto the underside of my trailing pothos leaves. It is an aesthetic choice, really.
The glass is delicate, which makes me nervous around my wandering cat, but the color is spectacular. It looks like a preserved drop of swamp water caught in midair.
I have opted to use mine as a tiny pedestal for a pebble collection instead of fire-holding, because why risk the wax when I can have curated mossy stones? It fits into my little jungle without screaming for attention, which is exactly the kind of design I appreciate.
If you want something that sits quietly among your ferns and adds a bit of subtle light play, this is it. It feels like finding a perfect, smooth sea glass shard on a day when you expected only grit.
Sometimes, a simple glass object is enough to make a cramped room feel like a deliberate, light-filled garden.
