My monstera deliciosa is currently trying to eat my desk lamp, but at least my workspace is finally functional. Cable sprawl is the enemy of any botanist working from a cramped apartment.
It is a minefield for wandering spider plant runners and curious house geckos. I recently grabbed the Kensington UH1510P hub from Amazon for seventy bucks to stop the madness.
It has eleven ports, which feels like overkill until you realize you need to plug in a ring light, a humidifier, and a microscope all at once. This hub is compact enough that I managed to wedge it behind my potted ferns without crushing a single leaf.
It handles three monitors at high resolution, which is honestly a bit much for my brain, but it looks sharp. The power delivery keeps my laptop charged while I edit photos of fungus.
It is reliable, sturdy, and sits quietly in the corner like a well behaved succulent. If you are tired of tripping over wires that threaten your seedlings, this little black box is worth the space it takes up on your desk.
Plus, it does not get hot enough to singe my variegated ivy, which is the highest praise I can give.
